I had the opportunity to spend the night on my sisters 30 ft boat last night down at the coast. So much of my childhood was spent on the coast, and it sure did feel good to get back to … Continue reading →
Our notion of the perfect society embraces the family as its center and ornament, and this paradise is not secure until children appear to animate and complete the picture. –Amos Bronson Alcott
The older I get, and the older my children get, the more I appreciate family. I was blessed with a good excuse to spend some time with some awesome family members this weekend. In our busy day to day rat races, we often take for granted this precious thing. Spending time with these precious kids Sunday afternoon reminded me so much of how fast time flies. Mister Will and Miss Shiloh are brother and sister and are three years apart, just like my Ethan and Claire. It seems such a short time ago, that I was chasing my two babies around, trying to capture the “perfect” shot. I wouldn’t take any amount of money for those pictures today….. If only I could have the time back for just a little while. =)
Here are Mister Will and Miss Shiloh, in all of their beautiful, wonderful, sweet glory. =) Joel & Nicki….. Ya’ll did good! =)
There is no explanation that can cover the feeling I felt today, when I saw Ethan back out on that track in Alma. Although he has been back on a track since his wreck in which he broke his collarbone, I had not been there to see it. He had a pretty nasty break, which required surgery. Bad part is, it should’ve never happened. He was at a practice and was about to load up and head home, when he decided he wanted to “make a few more laps”. For whatever reason, he forgot to put his neck brace on. (a mistake I bet he will NEVER make again). I am a firm believer in the fact that it could’ve been a lot worse, and I am thankful for lessons learned.
Probably no one but a motocross mom can understand about the excitement I felt seeing him back out there today…..but for all practical purposes…. I will just say, it was a very good day. =)
Next race…… March 25th- Alma MX Park! Mama can’t WAIT!!! Brrrraaaaap! #169
While Avery is home on his leave, I decided I needed few new pictures! So, Sunday afternoon, I managed to get all of my crew together to get just that! I think they turned out pretty good! They sure are a good looking crew! Ordered a large masonite print of the four of them to update my mantle. Cant WAIT for it to get here! Here they are!
Hello world! I have finally bitten the bullet and joined the world of BLOGGING! What a better first blog than to talk about my last few days. My sweet daughter’s even sweeter boyfriend graduated from Marine Basic Training on Friday. We all went up to Parris Island SC a day early on Thursday for Family Day. What a GREAT experience! I have always had a deep appreciation for our men in uniform, but now my appreciation is even greater. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience for sure. The evident pride on the faces of friends and family of these young men is indescribable. It was an honor to be a part of that. Now I have always been pretty partial to Avery, and his family…..but I have an even deeper appreciation and respect for the decision he has made to protect our country. Not a decision to be taken lightly for sure! I want to share a few images from that day with you. Hope you enjoy!
